In February 2021, the number of IP applications in Korea was 42,114, and the cumulative number of applications from January to February was 87,744, an increase of 10.9% compared to the same period last year, utility models decreased by 8.1% while patents increased by 4.9%, designs by 9.1%, and trademarks by 16.8%.

 In February 2021, the number of intellectual property registrations in Korea was 25,521, and the cumulative number of registrations in 2021 was 52,720, an increase of 2.1% compared to the same period in 2020, utility models decreased by 17.4% and 2.9% while patents and designs increased 8.1% and 0.1%, respectively.

 In the case of request for examination, the number of requests in February 2021 was 16,629, and the number of accumulated requests in 2021 was 33,859, an increase of 3.1% compared to the same period last year. The number of requests for trial was 580 as of February 2021, and the cumulative number this year was 1,196, a 14.8% decrease compared to the same period last year.
